چکیده
(Received: May 11, 2011; June 13, 2011) Abstract: In the most cases of the practical fermentation processes with filamentous microorganisms, direct monitoring of the cell morphology and biomass distribution in the culture medium is not easily possible. Use of a mathematical model is a suitable way to describe the substrate uptake and cell growth behavior of these microorganisms. Penicillium brevicompactum is one of the morphologically complex filamentous fungi with different structural forms. In this work, nutrient uptake and cell growth kinetics were investigated using Monod and Moser models through batch submerged fermentation in a bench-scale stirred tank bioreactor. The experimental data were fitted with both the Monod and the Moser kinetic with a regression value of 0.87. The maximum specific growth rate and Monad's half-saturation coefficient were determined as 0.04 h and 9 g. L , 1 1

متن کاملStudy of Growth Kinetic Models of a Methanotroph Bacterium Growing on Natural Gas
Kinetics of single cell protein production from natural gas by a microorganism (a Methylomonas sp.) was studied experimentally and by modeling at equal amount of air and natural gas. Kinetic models of Monod, Moser, Teissier, Aiba, Andrews, and Noack were used for illustrating cell growth. Methane and oxygen were considered as limited substrates with concentration in the range 2-10 mg/lit. Death...

The present study is focused on biodesulfurization of natural gas in a batch culture using active microorganisms. The microorganisms used for the removal of hydrogen sulfide were obtained from a hot spring. The experiments were conducted with mixed gas at operating temperatures of 25 to 45°C with a time interval of 5h. Two kinetic models included Logistic and Monod models in a batch culture wer...
متن کاملEnhanced Bioethanol Production in Batch Fermentation by Pervaporation Using a PDMS Membrane Bioreactor
The integration of batch fermentation and membrane-based pervaporation process in a membrane bioreactor (MBR) was studied to enhance bioethanol production compared to conventional batch fermentation operated at optimum condition. For this purpose, a laboratory-scale MBR system was designed and fabricated. Dense hydrophobic Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) membrane was used for pervaporation. For fer...
